Well I didn’t see that one coming.

I have suggested in the past that this Jets team could win 10 and make the playoffs. Now who the hell knows? Their offense was actually even more pathetic than the Yankees’ in the last three games of the ALDS. The team was just flat.
I think Bob Bullock sums it up pretty well on his blog:
I have to admit this team fooled me after beating Buffalo and coming close against Indianapolis. Well Chicago certainly showed how easy beating the Bills is and even Tennessee kept it close against the Colts. So really, how good is this Jets’ team?
I can honestly write here today that I have no clue what this Jets’ team is all about right now. I thought I did through the first 4 weeks, but this game has shed new light on the team as a whole.
I do have to say that I don’t think Chad Pennington will play as bad as he played today every week, which was definitely a huge factor in the outcome of this contest. However, I don’t like how the team played with ZERO emotion throughout the entire afternoon. That has to be a big red flag for coach Mangini and company.
As inexcusable as it was for the Yankees to lose a playoff series to the Tigers, it was just as inexcusable for the Jets not to show up today.
The Jets enter the soft part of their schedule: The Dolphins, the Lions and the Browns and then after losses to the Pats and Bears, another stretch that includes the Texans, Packers, Bills, Dolphins and Raiders. Next week’s game against the free-falling Dolphins will be a huge test.

I didn’t see that coming either. I could’ve really used the Jets to put at least 3 points on the scoreboard so the Jags DST didn’t get credit for a shutout.
What was suprising to see for someone like me who didn’t watch the game was that rookie RB Leon Washington was able to get 100+ yards rushing. How does a team get shut out yet a) a RB goes for 100 yards and b) gets more yards on the ground than through the air? Befuddling to say the least.
