A few things to keep in mind about the BCS and Boise St. (some of which stated on SportsCenter last night):

     - If there were an 8-team playoff, as many (including myself) would love to see, Boise St. would most likely not have been included because they were ranked #9.

     - 20 years ago, this game would have not happened because a team with the tradition and power of Oklahoma would NEVER have set foot on the same field as Boise St.  The BCS in its current format (for better or worse) allowed this game to take place.

     - Let’s calm down a bit with the Boise St-for-National-Champion talk.  It is not a far fetched comparison to say that Boise St.’s win over Oklahoma wasn’t that much different from a 12 or 13 seed winning their first round game in the NCAA tournament.  I realize football is different than basketball, but Boise St, did in fact only beat one ranked team this season - it just happened to be on national TV and in one of the most stunning fashions I have ever seen.

None of this should take away from what they accomplished this season.  Going unbeaten in college football is not easy.  They were able to do it and certainly deserve all of the praise that goes along with it.  But untill we get a God Damn playoff, we will never know how good this team really is.
