This paragraph, buried in a Newark Star-Ledger story on the Jets, should send send shivers through fantasy football players everywhere:
[Jets GM Mike] Tannenbaum pointed out that the Jets’ running-back-by-committee approach is being employed by many teams and is the wave of the future. He hinted that’s the direction in which the team will continue to go.
Emphasis added by me. Yikes.

O’ Tannebaum, o’ Tannebaum, your lack of quality running backs confounds theee…
It’s more accurate that a RBBD (running-back-by-duo) may be the wave of the future, as many teams employed that style by choice (or necessity?) this season. Three playoff teams besides the Jets used a duo approach: Patriots (Dillon/Maroney), Bears (Jones/Benson), and the Colts (Addai/Rhodes).
But yeah, time to drop all Jets RBs to 15th round flier material now.

How is this different than when “The Bus” became a short distance running back. Whats next? I’m betting Urban Meyer’s dual quarterback system catches on in at least 2 NFL teams by ‘08.

Nah. UF’s QB system was by necessity, not preference. Meyer inherrited Leak (who was a senior, and will graduate, as I understand), and Tebow (only a Frosh) is Urban’s guy, and will be the man for the next 2-3 years. I say 2, ’cause he could go pro early (being as big and mobile as he is), or MEYER could go pro, leaving Tebow to be somebody ELSE’S guy.
Can I possibly express how much I’m hating UF these days?? Two NCs at once. UGH.
