OK, not exactly sports, but I finally dug up my log in again.
On another note, I’m glad to see Peavy is mentored quite well by his two grand pa’s, Maddux and Hoffman. Somehow along the way the Padres have the best record in the NL with Peavy and Young leading the way. I do enjoy watching the Cubs brawl each other in the dugout more than the north-side Chicago boys going at it with the Padres. This is turning into a pure pitching club for it certainly isn’t offense that is propelling the record. All but two teams in the AL (White Sox and Baltimore, well its Baltimore after all,) have scored more runs, while the Padres have given up 30 fewers runs than any other team in baseball. Maybe they will actually win two games in the first round of the playoffs this year. They won one last year, and got swept the year before. May we do better than arithmetic progression.
