Griffin Whitman, a 10-year-old Red Sox fan from Swampscott, was excited to attend his first Yankees vs. Red Sox game Friday night. The young autograph -collector was even more thrilled to score Yankees outfielder Shelley Duncan’s signature before the game. That is, until Griffin read the message from the 27-year-old rookie:
“Red Sox suck! Shelley Duncan.”
“It was cool to get his autograph,” Griffin said. “It didn’t make me feel happy when he wrote that.”

Reason # 4509821435 why I love to hate the Yankees . . .

Shelley Duncan is lucky he is a baseball player, not a football player. Under the NFL code of conduct, that autograph probably would cost him a chunk of his season in pay and/or game(s) suspended.
And actually, I think I’d be ok with that since this was a 10 year old kid.

i’m too skeptical - i think it’s a fake. i’m sure the kid got Duncan’s autograph, but i wouldn’t put it past someone to put the Red Sox S—! above the signature, after-the-fact.
And since Confo’s linking left something to be desired (like, the link to the story), here it is:
