I have to say, I didn’t have the same emotional investment this post season as I did in 2004. I don’t think any Red Sox fan could – 2004 was a thing of legend. But seeing the Red Sox celebrating on the field, I feel remarkably like I did when the Sox won it all in 2004, just a bit more subdued. Given how it took 86 years to get from 5 world championships to six, Red Sox fans should savor this #7 now because you never know when something like this will come along again. These are, as they say, the good old days. Enjoy them!

Congrats to Scott & Mike (and to a much lesser extent Bob – it’s all relative to how much you post and are invested in your team) — the Sox left no doubt this week that they are the best in baseball.
While I was certainly rooting for the Rockies to win, I’m no particular fan of the Rox or of Colorado. I was mostly hoping for a competitive WS – which this was decidedly not. And for that, the Red Sox deserve all credit – they thoroughly dominated the Rockies, and as such, have my respect and admiration. They’re an enjoyable team to have seen win it all.

I’ll have you know that I was carried into Fenway Park on my first visit, and no I was NOT in college and drunk.
