Mixed reports and speculation out of Ann Arbor indicate Michigan Head Coach Lloyd Carr could retire on Monday, after Michigan’s regular-season finale at home against the hated Ohio State Buckeyes.
Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USCĀ fans weep at the thought . . .

If that happens, the question becomes whether or not Michigan will pony up a signing bonus to get Les Miles out of his LSU contract ($1.25M buyout I believe).
It’ll be sad to see the last direct link to Bo Schembechler leave if it does happen, but I think Carr’s time has come to go.

He doesn’t seem that old to me. Perhaps “retire” is a euphemism for “agreeing to a buy-out?” According to Wikipedia, he’s only 62. Maybe he’d want to come to DUKE??

Maybe he’d consider Duke if Greg Paulus agreed to QB
