“After discussing my future plans with my family and Coach Boeheim, I’ve decided to declare for the NBA draft,” Greene said in the statement.
…
Greene averaged 17.7 points per game in his freshman season, the second most for a first-year player in Syracuse history, behind only Carmelo Anthony’s 22.2 in 2002-03. Greene is the first player to declare for the NBA early since Anthony did in 2003.

ugh. that sux. any chance he DOESN’T hire an agent, and possibly comes back?
Greene was SO good, he led the Orange to a non-NCAA berth, a non-BE Championship, and a non-NIT championship.
I’m not picking Scott (look at my squad). I’m just saying, if he can’t dominate college basektball, or at least compete at the level of Carmelo Anthony, OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, etc., he can’t honestly believe he will be a top-15 pick and NBA difference-maker.
Mike, I couldn’t agree more - he’s no Carmello. And, as Borg points out, he may not hire an agent and be able to come back. Best case scenario is he discovers he’s a 2nd round projection at best and then comes back knowing what he needs to work on next year to improve his draft stock. He’s a very talented player, one who can probably with polish play in the NBA. But yeah, I can’t see him as a top 15 pick (though I have no idea what this class looks like).
ESPN’s NBA Insider top 100 has him rated as the 19th best prospect, a lottery to mid-1st round pick. Booooooooooooooooooooo…
