“WASHINGTON (AP) - The 2008 NCAA championship Boston College men’s hockey team was honored today in the U.S. Senate. Massachusetts Sens. Edward Kennedy and John Kerry introduced a resolution Tuesday congratulating the Eagles on winning their third national hockey title. Boston College defeated Catholic rival Notre Dame, 4-1, on Saturday for the championship. Boston College compiled an overall record of 24-11-8 during the 2007-2008 season, which also included the school’s 14th victory in the historic Beanpot Championship where they defeated Harvard in the final.”
