Since the Pope arrived in DC today, I’m glad it’s undeniably clear that as I always suspected, and in case any Catholics are confused by the Indiana-based public relations campaign, God and the Senate, clearly root for the Jesuits…
“WASHINGTON (AP) - The 2008 NCAA championship Boston College men’s hockey team was honored today in the U.S. Senate. Massachusetts Sens. Edward Kennedy and John Kerry introduced a resolution Tuesday congratulating the Eagles on winning their third national hockey title. Boston College defeated Catholic rival Notre Dame, 4-1, on Saturday for the championship. Boston College compiled an overall record of 24-11-8 during the 2007-2008 season, which also included the school’s 14th victory in the historic Beanpot Championship where they defeated Harvard in the final.”

Not that I’m agreeing with this, but the Catholic channel on Sirius broadcasts ND football and basketball.

“The Catholic Channel, the collaboration between The Archdiocese of New York and SIRIUS Satellite Radio, is an exclusive 24-hour Catholic lifestyle
radio channel airing nationally seven days a week. The channel features contemporary talk, live daily masses from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York,
and Notre Dame football and basketball.”
For the record, I find it ridiculous that Senate is distracted with bills about Boston College and that a religious channel broadcasts anyone’s sporting events…
