The Onion wins again

I’ve often tried to write something funny about one of my talentless fantasy teams, but I don’t think I’ve ever been able to pen something as amusing as the Onion’s latest: Fantasy Baseball Owner Rips Team In Media.
Mendicus continued his heated rant, calling shortstop Felipe Lopez a “talentless hack whose multiple position eligibility is the [...]

So much for family friendly…

After the family friendly conversation, I tried to resist posting this, but just couldn’t.
Apparently in Spain, they have “evidence” that football (soccer) is more popular than sex.  Attendance to the three-day International Erotic Film Festival of Barcelona (FICEB) plummeted from previous years, and organizers are blaming Spain’s success in the European Cup.
Spain’s success at Euro [...]

Zack Hample Needs a Life

3,494 and counting: Ballhawk is in league all of his own
Amazingly, he claims to have gotten “28 baseballs at a Washington Nationals game”, including “17 in batting practice.”  I’m just glad to know our team can hit that many home runs in batting practice

Speaking of Shortstop Trades…

Speaking of shortstop trades, could we possibly be this fortunate?
Orioles Interested in Felipe Lopez (mlbtraderumors.com)

O’s have interest in deal for infielder Lopez (Fox Sports)

I agree with Rosenthal’s stament that the O’s could trade a “marginal minor-league prospect”.  I’d personally settle for a dozen or so bats and balls if they take over the entire [...]

GIVE FDR A RUN FOR HIS MONEY

For fans who go to Nats’ home games, the presidential race takes on a whole new meaning. The current line-up of presidents who run the race every night includes George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. I don’t have problems with any of these guys but I think it’s time for the Nats to [...]

Welcome, Philadelphia constitutionalists

I did an event at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia last night (very cool place, btw), discussing White House Ghosts. The moderator gave me a very kind intro, talking about my various journalistic jobs, and then noted that I’m also on the Internet. He listed HuffPo, Robert Emmet, and then what he described as [...]

Nats to go the Dmitri Young route with the Guz?

Oh yeah, this is going to end well.

Pacman Praying for Imus

On the opposite sites of the intelligence and situational awareness continuum:
Don Imus puts his foot in his mouth again with inappropriate race comments.  You can judge this from Imus being a racist to his provided explination.  Regardless of what you believe, he handled it poorly.
On the opposite side of the continuum, “Pacman” Adam Bernard Jones [...]

Arroyo Makes Nats Pitching Look Good

According to ESPN, Bronson Arroyo became the first starting pitcher since 1900 to pitch one inning or less and allow 10 runs and 11 hits.  Amazingly he only gave up one walk in the 15 batters he faced.  However, he gave up 3 home runs and added a wild pitch too.  On a positive note, [...]

Can you name all 73 BCS schools?

Good luck!
BTW, my best time so far is 4:30.
