First, he gives them his only begotten son (Mangenius). Then he sends the savior Brett Favre to Gang Green, and then today Goliath is slayed (or at least his ACL) by the least (shall I say David?) of all NFL teams. God must be a Jets fan.

i still don’t see them making the playoffs. Miami is BAD this year, and Penny almost brought them back at the end of the game. Cassell still takes NE further than Favre takes the Jets this year.
Somebody put Smith on suicide watch!

I dunno if Cassell will do as well as you might think. He had an awful preseason and it wasn’t settled that he was going to be the backup until very late. He’s intriguing to be sure, but still – you’re telling me that the gunslinger with all the upgrades the Jets made in the offseason isn’t taking the Jets to the playoffs? I’d like to think the Pats will go on and still kick tail (and they might) but right now it’s not looking too good on that front from where I sit.

Tim Rattay and Chris Sims to the rescue! Just where are Brock Huard, Tim Hasselback, and the Detmer brothers when we need them? Someone place a call to Sunny Pines Retirement Community and see if Vinny T. is available.

STATEMENT FROM THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ON TOM BRADY
“After extensive tests this morning, it was revealed that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s left knee, which was injured in the first quarter of yesterday’s game, will require surgery. He will be placed on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season.”
