Yankees Payroll Myth? Not Going Down?

Murray Chass, the former Times baseball reporter who now writes a don’t-call-it-a-blog has run the numbers and says it seems pretty bloody unlikely that the Yankees have freed up $88.5 million this off-season or that their payroll will be lower next season.

Bills Retain Dick Jauron

Jets, Patriots and Dolphins fans rejoice.

Pro Bowl Changes, but Still Likely to Suck

I was going to write a rant about the rumored upcoming chagnes to the NFL Pro Bowl, but apparently Chris Chase at Yahoo! Sports beat me to it.

The rumor is that the NFL is going to move the Pro Bowl from Hawaii to the Super Bowl location, and will play it the week before the [...]

MLB Network coming to a TV near you in 2 days

For my fellow DirecTV subscribers (or Cox & Verizon FiOS users), the new MLB Network begins broadcasting on January 1st, 2009.  For those of you with Dish Network, cue Bob Barker and The Price Is Right failure music - it’s not offered on DirecTV Junior.

Oh that’s easy: “You’re fired.”
That’s a phrase that Woody Johnson should utter this week.

John Henry Thinks Red Sox Fans Are Fools

Of all the reactions to the Yankees’ signing Mark Teixeira, John Henry’s was the most amusing and the most offensive.

We’re baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Over a bottle of bourboun and some beers, Rob and I have resurrected SiMP from the hackers and under a new there we’re up and running.  Welcome back - I expect some nice NYY bashing articles to follow.
