So it’s time for the pre-season top-25 poll! Nope not college football, but in the ultimate spirit of pushing the seasons here is Andy Katz’ top-25 for next year’s college hoops. (Ok, he had a point, now that we know who is returning — and lots of guys are coming back — he produced a ranking based on that info. But still, it’s baseball season.)

Scottie Reynolds (Villanova) and Luke Harangody (Notre Dame) probably pushed the Orange out of the mix in the pre-season Big East race, but even despite losing Flynn, 8-Mile, and Paul Harris, Syracuse has a good returning core and some sick incoming players. Top 25 for the Orange? Bank on it in ‘09/’10.

Yet another stud early defection (Gerald Henderson) to the NBA demotes Duke from elite, National Title contender (top-5) to merely good (#10). MEH.
