Youth may not spring eternal, but hope surely does
7 August 2008 by Robert SchlesingerBrett Favre joins other Hall of Famers who played for the Jets, like Art Monk and Ronnie Lott.
Oh? You don’t remember their Jet tenures?
And in 20 years Favre’s Jet tenure will be as memorable as Willie Joe Namath’s Rams go-round. This is how it has always been with the Jets and so it shall ever […]

More fun football stats
5 August 2008 by Robert SchlesingerMore fun stats from Football Prospectus:
- The New York Jets threw to the left more often than any other team in 2007.

The Packers get some professional help, are preparing to invade Iraq

Cashman should stick by his guns — the Yankees don’t necessarily need Washburn. They can replace Rasner or Ponson with Ian Kennedy or someone like Aceves.
Yankees trade analysis: Too soon to tell
26 July 2008 by Robert SchlesingerThe Yankees acquired Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte for four minor leaguers, including prize prospect Jose Tabata and pitcher Ross Ohlendorf.
The trade initially was said to include LHP Phil Coke and RHP George Kontos, but it has been rejiggered to include RHPs Dan McCutcheon and Jeff Karstens.
A good trade? Ask again in October and in […]
For Yankees, major addition could come from minors
25 July 2008 by Robert SchlesingerThe Yankees big rotation addition could come from within. To wit, Ian Kennedy, who along with Phil Hughes was supposed to be a rotation next-gen mainstay this year but ended up flopping and then getting injured is healthy and pitching again, at AAA Scranton. And last night he came within an error of notching his […]
