Week One College Football Roundup
3 September 2008 by CruiserThe first 2 weeks of the college season are usually a snoozefest, and rest assured, that is intentional. Big time programs like Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Florida intentionally schedule creampuff opponents from lesser conferences or divisions to act as revenue-creating home games that are little more than organized scrimmages. There are/were, of course, exceptions such […]

This will not help him get another gig…
2 September 2008 by Christopher ConfessoreTatum Bell made off with Rudi Johnson’s bags Monday while Rudi was in Matt Millen’s office working his deal. Upon finding the items missing, the Lions checked video surveillance and found Bell doing his best cookie crook impression. Bell took the bags to a female acquaintance and asked her to keep them for awhile.
No, really […]
Lannan-Utley Circle of Pain

Tonight, with John Lannan pitching, Chase Utley sent Jesus Flores out on a stretcher sliding into home.
The […]
The new Wes?
29 August 2008 by Christopher ConfessoreIf Welker misses a few games, Pats fans have another short white receiver to cheer for; Raymond Ventrone. Yay!
(and don’t forget about JAWN FACKIN’ LYNCH).
Just because Ray’s one catch led to like 10 minutes of commentary last night, about “versatility” toughness”, etc.
A Sister Cycle
28 August 2008 by DavidWow, who’d have thought. Sister Cristian Guzman just hit for the cycle against the Dodgers.
That should pretty much be the icing on the cake for this series sweep, and also for the Dodgers playoff hopes (after 7 consecutive losses including being swept by the worst team in baseball…)
It’s over
28 August 2008 by CruiserThe Yankees are finally dead. After 14 years, the Yankee playoff run is finally over.
Hmmm . . . Mark Teixeira and CC Sabathia on line 2, Mr. Cashman.
Hurray for Instant Replay!
26 August 2008 by DavidBaseball gets with the times: Limited instant replay debuts Thursday
And the system looks like it makes sense too.
2008 Notre Dame Preview
24 August 2008 by CruiserLast season was objectively the worst in the history of America’s most popular college football team. The Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish set records for losses in a season, sacks allowed, and rushing yards per game (low). While the special teams and defense were bad, the offense was even worse, ranking at or near last in Division […]
